Two S3 pupils, Sam Lamont and Liam Young, represented North West Community Campus at a public speaking competition organised by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service on Thursday 13th February at Dumfries Academy. Sam and Liam worked as a team to deliver speeches on the set topic of “ageism doesn’t just affect the old.” Whilst the boys were disappointed not to progress to the next round of the competition, they received lots of positive feedback from the judging panel which included a Procurator Fiscal, Sheriff from Dumfries Sheriff Court and a police officer. They delivered their speeches with confidence, challenged the other teams with their questions and were a credit to our school. Well done Sam and Liam!
